Effective date: 2026-10-12
This policy applies to the Folio iOS app, the Folio web version, and public web pages such as this privacy policy and the support page. It explains what information they handle, how they handle it, how long it is kept, and how you can manage it.
Folio is developed and run by an individual developer: the developer named on Folio's App Store page. In this policy, “we” means the developer of Folio.
Contact email: 1421718903@qq.com. In the app, you can also find it under Me → Help & support → Contact us.
To remember your choices, the app stores the following on your device. The iOS app keeps it in the app's own storage; the web version keeps it in the local storage (localStorage) your browser provides for the website's domain. The app does not automatically send any of it to us or to any third party (for device backups, see section 11).
Search terms and unsubmitted report forms are kept only temporarily while you use them and are not saved. The app does not use cookies and does not create or store any identifier for you or your device.
The app also reads your system language, light/dark and Reduce Motion settings to adjust the interface. The app does not store or send these settings.
When you use the web version, your browser may also cache its web files. This cache is managed by the browser and contains no personal information.
You can tell us that a resource is gone, has wrong information or infringes rights, or send us suggestions, via Me → Help & support → Report a problem, or via “Something wrong? Report it” on a resource's detail page.
When you submit, the app creates a report text containing: the report type; the name and ID of the resource you selected, or the resource name you typed; your details; the contact information you chose to give; the data version; and the date and time on your device when you submitted.
The app does not send this text anywhere itself. The note below the form says which of two ways is used: either the text is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it into an email to 1421718903@qq.com yourself, or a pre-filled email opens in the mail app on your device and you decide whether to send it.
On the app's Contact us page, you can tap Copy email to copy our email address, or Write an email to open your mail app. An email opened with Write an email is pre-filled with the app version, data version, system type (such as iOS) and interface language to help us troubleshoot. This contains no personal information, and you can edit or delete it before sending. You can also tap Troubleshooting info to copy just these items.
If you email us, we receive the email's contents and any attachments such as screenshots or screen recordings, along with your email address, sender name and information your mail app or email service adds automatically (such as the time sent and your email signature; some email services also include the sender's IP address in the email headers).
We use this information only to handle the issue you reported (including correcting or removing listings and handling rights complaints), to consider your suggestions for improving Folio, and to reply to you, and for no other purpose.
When handling a rights complaint, we may ask you for proof of rights or authorization, which may include your name, organization or identity details. We use it only to verify the complaint and keep it for the period described in section 11. Unless truly necessary, please do not send sensitive personal information such as ID numbers. The Folio app itself never asks you for sensitive personal information.
Contact information is optional. Please include only what is needed to handle the issue. When you fill it in, iOS or your browser may suggest your own email address; it is entered only if you tap the suggestion.
When you tap Share, the app opens the system share sheet. What is shared is only the resource name, Folio's summary and the source name. It contains no personal information, and you choose who receives it. If your device does not support the system share sheet, this text is copied to the clipboard instead.
The app writes to the clipboard only when you tap a matching button (Share, Send feedback, Copy again, Copy email, Troubleshooting info) and never reads the clipboard.
Please note: what is on the clipboard can be read by other apps (when an app reads it on its own, iOS usually asks you first), and if Handoff is on, Universal Clipboard may also make it appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. If a report includes your contact information, that is copied too.
The iOS app uses the open-source framework Capacitor to package the web content as an app. It runs only on your device and does not collect or send any data. Apart from this, the app includes no other third-party SDKs, and no analytics, advertising, push, login or crash-reporting SDKs. The open-source interface fonts, Geist and JetBrains Mono, are also bundled with the app and the web version rather than loaded from a font service such as Google Fonts.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. The services below receive some information in specific situations and handle it under their own privacy policies:
Alibaba Cloud (Alibaba Group): The Folio web version, this privacy policy and the support page are hosted on Alibaba Cloud. When you visit these pages, Alibaba Cloud receives and may log standard access information such as your IP address, browser type, referring page and the page requested.
Alibaba Cloud Privacy Policy: https://help.aliyun.com/zh/document_detail/2705225.html
Apple: The Folio iOS app is distributed through the App Store, and Apple handles downloads and updates under its own privacy policy. If you have turned on Share With App Developers under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your iPhone or iPad, Apple may provide us with Folio crash reports, diagnostics and aggregated usage statistics (such as active devices, sessions and retention). You can turn this off at any time in the same place.
In addition, whether or not this option is on, Apple provides developers with aggregated App Store data that does not identify individuals (such as downloads, country or region, and device type). We can also see ratings and reviews you post publicly on the App Store, and may reply publicly. We use the information Apple provides only to understand how the app runs and is used, to find and fix problems, and to improve Folio.

Email provider (Tencent QQ Mail): We receive email with QQ Mail, so emails you send us are stored on Tencent's servers and handled by Tencent under its privacy policy.
Tencent privacy policy: https://privacy.qq.com/
The third-party services we chose (Alibaba Cloud and Tencent QQ Mail) provide the same or equal protection of user information as described in this policy. Other than the cases above and where required by law, we do not share your personal information with any third party or disclose it publicly.
If Folio is ever handed over to another developer, we will tell you the recipient's name and contact details in the app or on this page, and require them to keep handling your information under this policy; if they want to change why or how it is handled, they must ask for your consent again.
We process information only for the purposes below:
If we want to use information for a purpose not listed above, we will update this policy first, and where your consent is required, we will ask for it first.
The official website is a set of static pages: it has no accounts, sign-in, saves or comments, and it stores no data in your browser.
In the iOS app, tapping Check (under Content updates) or pulling down to refresh reads only the data file built into the app and does not go online.
This privacy policy and the support page are static pages. They use no cookies, contain no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and do not load fonts, scripts or other resources from any third-party site.
We (the developer) are based in mainland China, and emails you send us are mainly read and handled by us in mainland China. Emails are stored on Tencent's QQ Mail servers; the servers of Apple may be located outside your country or region.
If you email us from the EU or a similar region, your email will be transferred to mainland China to be handled. Mainland China is not among the countries or regions the EU recognizes as having an adequate level of data protection.
Data saved on your device stays on your device, unless you copy, share or send it yourself, or it is included in a backup of your device (see section 11).
Data on your device is kept until you delete it. Messages keeps at most the 60 most recent messages and removes older ones automatically; of these, only the 7 most recent daily picks are kept.
In practice, feedback records (including any contact information you entered) stay on your device for a long time: daily picks do not push them out, and a record is removed automatically only after more than 50 newer content updates or reports have built up.
There is currently no one-tap button in the app to clear your data. You can unsave resources or change settings at any time. To delete everything (including feedback records), delete the Folio app on iOS, or clear the website's data in your browser settings for the web version.
On iOS, this data may be included in your iCloud or computer backups (depending on your backup settings) and may come back when you restore your device from a backup. The system may also clear it when your device is low on storage.
In the web version, some browsers may clear this data automatically if you have not visited the website for a while, for example Safari when you have not visited the website during 7 days of using Safari.
We keep emails you send us until the issue is resolved and we no longer need to be in touch with you, and then delete them. Emails and proof relating to rights complaints are kept until the matter is closed. Unless the law requires otherwise, you can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Information received by Alibaba Cloud and Apple is kept according to their own policies.
You have the right to access, copy, correct, supplement and delete your personal information, and to withdraw consent. Folio has no accounts and most information is only on your device, so you can manage it directly:
We cannot see the data on your device and cannot tell who you are, so we cannot access or delete that data for you.
For information you have emailed us, you can write to 1421718903@qq.com to access, copy, correct, supplement or delete it, or to ask us to stop contacting you. You can also ask us to restrict or stop processing it, to explain this policy, or, where the conditions set by law are met, to transfer a copy of it to another processor you designate.
To confirm it is you, we may ask you to write from the address you originally used. We will handle and answer your request within a reasonable time, and if we cannot meet your request, we will explain why.
If you think we have handled your personal information improperly, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the personal information or data protection authority where you live.
The app does not upload your data to our servers. Data on your device is protected by your device's own security measures, such as your passcode. We take reasonable measures to prevent unauthorized access to emails you send us, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
If a security incident involving your personal information occurs, we will inform you by email or other means as required by applicable law.
Folio is a 3D and AI learning-resource app for everyone. It requires no account and does not actively collect anyone's personal information, including that of minors.
If you are under 18, please read this policy under the guidance of a parent or other guardian.
If you are under 14 (or another age set by the law where you live), please read this policy with a parent or other guardian and get their permission before emailing us.
If we learn that we have received a child's personal information without a guardian's consent, we will delete it. Parents and guardians with questions can contact 1421718903@qq.com.
We may update this policy when the app's features change. The updated version will be published on this page and in the app, and the date at the top will be changed.
If a change involves collecting new personal information, changing how it is used or adding a new third-party service, we will point it out clearly in the app (for example in Messages) or on this page, and where your consent is required, we will ask for it first.
If you have any questions, comments or requests about this policy, email 1421718903@qq.com, or find our contact details in the app under Me → Help & support → Contact us.
